Meet the founder & Co-Owner
Michelle Rosenthal

At Grown Gem, we believe in redefining the world of fine jewelry. Our story began in 2017, when our founder, Michelle, faced a series of disappointing experiences with traditional mined diamonds. After investing in an engagement ring and wedding ring that failed to meet her expectations, Michelle realized the diminishing value of mined diamonds and the lack of uniqueness in the designs.

In 2021, after losing her wedding ring while traveling abroad, Michelle embarked on a journey to find a more meaningful and cost-effective solution. Her exploration led her to the bustling Jewelry Districts of LA and NY, where she discovered lab grown diamonds—a revolutionary, ethical, and environmentally responsible alternative to mined stones.

However, Michelle noticed a troubling trend: retailers were charging exorbitant prices for lab-grown diamonds, mirroring the issues she had encountered with mined diamonds. Driven by a desire to break this cycle, Grown Gem was born.

meet the co-owner
Heather Rosenthal

Heather Rosenthal, Co-Owner & Designer, has been in the fashion business since starting her career at BRIDES Magazine, Conde Nast Publications, NYC 1997. After serving both creative & sales positions, she left BRIDES Magazine after having the ability to work closely with other individuals in Design & Real Estate. Heather soon got married & joined forces in building custom spec homes, in Westchester County, NY, predominately in the Rye, Purchase, and Harrison area.

Her responsibilities included designing & collaborating with clientele for their multi-million dollar homes. Heather continued on working for various high level designers in all facets of fashion, accessorizing clients from head to toe in jewelry & clothing. Heather has an eye for Design & Fashion and Graduated with a Marketing Degree from FIU. She spends her time looking into new trends in the Jewlery Design aspect of the business, where she is currently designing her own line, Heather Dawn Design, from engagement rings to wedding bands. Heather has already designed many jewelry pieces that are in stores today under their own line.
